Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert want to adopt a boy to help on their farm. Instead they are sent Anne Shirley, a red-haired orphan with a vivid imagination. Anne's charm and well-meaning (though misadventurous) nature soon win over the Cuthberts but it’s not long before she gets herself into trouble.

Anne of Green Gables is a life force of a character, with an insatiable appetite for imagination and the beauty of nature. Though she isn't perfect—often making mistakes and saying the wrong things—everything she does is heartfelt and well-meaning, making her spirit infectiously exhilarating!

Anne of Green Gables is a wonderful story about an orphan girl who finds a new home. It all begins when Marilla and Mathew decide to get a boy to help with their work. But what do they get? A girl! That's when Anne discovers the beauties of Avonlea. She makes friends with Diana, goes to school, makes an enemy, has rough times, gets upset and of course finds all of her imagination running through the freedom of her new life. But in the end you can see how much she has grown and how serious she became. But still deep inside there is that spark of her younger self somewhere within her past.
