Story
Gwen has been betrothed to Arthur for years but is dreading having to get married. She’s much more interested in Bridget, a knight who competes in tournaments. Art is no happier with the engagement. When Gwen and Art discover each other’s secrets they have the power to destroy each other and a tentative friendship develops. With rebellion brewing everything is in danger, not just Gwen and Art’s complicated romantic situation.

Great characters and plot and a fun writing style. A well balanced mix of romance, family drama and action set in an Arthurian world.

Gwen and Art Are Not In Love is a historical , light-hearted romping queer romance which features the quick-witted Princess Gwendolyn and her betrothed, an incredibly flirty Arthur. However, Gwen and Art do not get along. In fact, the only thing they agree on is that they hate each other… However, when Gwendolyn figures out a secret of Arthur’s, and then Arthur discovers a similar secret of hers, they agree to have a truce, to trick their parents into thinking their romance is working out… This book is a delightful read, filled with daring knights, such as Lady Bridget Leclair, and intriguing characters, such as Arthur’s bodyguard Sidney and Gwendolyn’s incredibly bookish brother Gabriel, all of which make the novel incredibly interesting and fun to read, and it is a nice break from some other more gritty teenage novels. Overall, I would recommend this novel due to its witty banter and hilariously great characters, although I would recommend the book for readers over the age of 13 as it does contain some darker themes not suitable for children younger than 13 years of age.
