The idea for the series came from Scandanavian folklore - “Huldufolk” are elves in Icelandic mythology.

I loved this book, Hilda is great, Twig is cute. Trolls are pretty much just misunderstood and protective. We love trolls, we hate bells!!!
Hilda and the Midnight Giant is the sequel to Hilda and the Troll. I loved this book as Twig is still adorable and the giant is just lonely. Hilda is intelligent and cool. Jorgen is a gentle giant who appears at night and is looking for his long-lost companion. The other giant, who is often mistaken for a mountain, is the giant he is searching for, she is named Illus. The other giants are forced to leave Earth due to human expansion. This book is as good as the first, if you have read that too!!
