Rat challenges Beetle to a race and Parrot promises a bright, new coat to the winner. Rat races as fast as he can but is astonished to find Beetle has reached the finish before him. ‘How did you do it?’ he asks. Beetle spreads her wings. Rat hadn’t known that beetles have wings. Beetle wins a shiny, new green and gold coat.
