Story
Pig Wizard and his granddaughter, Bea, lead a quiet life a Keepers of the Endless Flame, making potions and medicines for the people of Irpa. Then Bea meets Cad, a member of the Galdurians, a race believed to be extinct. Cad wants the Pig Wizard to help him find his missing people but when Bea takes him home the Pig Wizard has disappeared.

Why we chose it
A fun adventure story which immerses you in a fantasy world. What is nice about this story is that the main character struggles with anxiety and is therefore not a brave hero you get in most adventure books – it makes a nice change as you’re willing for her to do well! A strong graphic novel and therefore great for getting young people into reading.

The book is about a girl called Bea who is the adopted granddaughter of the Pig Wizard. Bea is the keeper of the Endless Flame so lives a quiet and peaceful life. One day when Bea is out, she falls out of a tree when looking for ingredients for a potion. She is caught by a Galdurian and they become good friends and go looking for the Pig Wizard. When I was reading I felt what the characters were feeling especially in a sad scene, beautifully drawn and makes the mood swings really well. I really loved this graphic novel and would highly recommend. Only thing is that you have to get the next books to keep reading.
