Twelve-year-old Percy knows that something is wrong when his teacher turns into a fury and attacks him. This book was amazing and I really enjoyed all the twists and the climax. I would certainly recommend the book to anyone who loves history or wants to find out more about the Ancient Greeks. It grips you and you can't put it down once you have started it. Although, I am obsessed with the Ancient Greeks so maybe that also influenced my decision. The facts are surprisingly accurate! This is the first one and you should read the others afterwards.
This book is an amazing fiction book but has some connection with real Greek mythology e.g the Greek Gods and some of the famous Greek heroes. I would really recommend this book and the whole series to everyone as I find them one of Riordan's best pieces. It's all about a teenager boy who finds out that his dad is a Greek God and you follow him on lots of amazing adventures to save the Gods or to protect their home.
