Story
A group of secondary school students produce The Junior Gazette, a junior offshoot funded by their local newspaper. The plot follows the lives of the students who work on the Gazette, both while working on the paper and in their personal lives. Each episode revolves around a new story for the Junior Gazette and, although written as a comedy drama, the show covered some serious issues from the time including solvent abuse, child abuse, teen suicide and gun crime.

Why we chose it
A classic comedy drama which also sensitively tackled serious issues facing teenagers. Intelligently written and brilliantly acted, with sharp dialogue and a great will-they, won’t-they relationship at its centre, Press Gang is one of the best examples of television storytelling.
