Why we chose it
A classic story featuring a master detective. Sherlock Holmes is one of the most famous detectives in literature and The Hound of the Baskervilles has everything that makes him great – an atmospheric setting, a mysterious and terrifying death, and a seemingly insoluble mystery.

Sir Charles Baskerville has died suddenly and mysteriously. As rumours spread of the terrible beast said to haunt the family spread, consulting detective Sherlock Holmes and his faithful companion Dr Watson are asked to ensure the protection of the new heir to Baskerville Hall in Devon. But it is there, in an isolated mansion, surrounded by wild, moors, that the pair must confront a terrifying evil which has lain dormant for centuries. When the two find out that the heir they were told about is not the only one, they realise that something is much deeper than just a glowing hound. There is somebody who is doing it, but who? I don't want to spoil the surprise in the review it is a mystery book!
