Story
Two girls, Lizzie Sancho and Dido Belle make friends when they meet at the theatre. Lizzie’s father is injured by a falling chandelier on the opening night of the play. Lizzie and Belle don’t believe it was an accident. They follow the clues to try to solve the mystery of who is behind it and find themselves in terrible danger in the cut throat world of Georgian London.

The Lizzie and Belle Mysteries: Drama and Danger is set in Georgian London. Lizzie works and lives at her family‘s tea shop. Her father, Ignatius Sancho, was going to be the first African man to play Othello on the British stage, but tragedy struck: a chandelier fell from the theatre ceiling above. On the other side of the theatre, Lizzie was not the only one to have suspicions; this led her to meet Dido Belle, who lives in Kenwood House with her aunt and uncle: the Lord Mansfield and Lady Mansfield. This is a very enjoyable mystery story that has lots of historical information about Georgian London. I really enjoyed learning about each character and their stories and found it satisfying finding out each piece of information. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn about Georgian London or enjoys a good mystery book. This book also explores themes of racism in Georgian times.
