In the city of Aramanth, everything in life is dictated by sets of exams. This book follows twins Kestrel and Bowman Hath on a quest to change the system and restore an ancient artifact. I enjoyed reading it due to the interesting plot and world building. It is a very good example of a fantasy novel and also takes staples of the genre and alters them - for example the city being under the control of an overly meritocratic system rather than a dictatorship.
A thrilling tale of the main character, Kestrel, and her journey to overthrow the tyranny that dominates her life and city that she lives in. As she begins her treacherous journey through unknown lands, she doesn't know what she's in for. A exhilarating novel full of twists and turns, this book keeps you on the edge of your seat until the final phrases of the novel.
