Yours from the Tower is a brilliantly complex book written in letters between the characters. Set in 1896 it follows three young women, friends from boarding school, who now lead completely differing lives. Polly teaches at an orphanage and finds herself trying to solve a mystery for her beloved students. Sophia is at the London season with her aunt, searching for a wealthy husband but discovering that love can send her other places. Finally Tirzah spends her days bored out of her mind caring for her grandmother. Throughout the letters, they share gossip, drama and romantic developments spanning the incredible world of historic Britain. My only critique is that if you are a fast reader it becomes complicated who is narrating and I had to restart halfway through but if you take the time and effort to read it through a beautiful story emerges. Overall I really liked it.
